DIY / SUCCULENT TERRARIUM

this isn't a DIY post as such but maybe a little source of inspiration for you.  i want to show you just how easy it is to create a lovely piece of home decor with your thrifting finds. 

this weekend was a bank holiday weekend here in the UK. i spent most of my time catching up with friends, eating scrummy food, relaxing in the sunshine & thrifting. the bank holiday weekends are great for thrifting, as there is an abundance of carboots which pop up all over the place!

this weekend i decided to keep an eye out for some succulent plants and an unusual glass container to create a mini terrarium. i couldn't believe how successful i was with finding an unusual glass container at a carboot for a £1, BONUS! along with the succulent plants for £1...... thats right the above terrarium cost a mere £2, bargain right? who said timeless home decor costs an arm and a leg?

what you need: 

x1 glass container (gold fish bowl, vintage bowl, glass jar etc.....) 

x3 succulent plants (or as many as you wish 

the fun part making your mini terrarium: 

1/ carefully remove your plants from their pots and separate the soil from the plants

2/ place enough soil in your glass container 

3/ decidenwhere you want to plant each of your plants & make a small hole in the soil

4/ carefully plant your succulents 

5/last but not least enjoy your succulent terrarium! It's that simple! 

rememebr succulents like very little water, maybe add a small amount of water once a week. succulents also love sunshine although not direct sunshine, they burn very easily so keep them in a nice bright room.
